Detached Outreach Youth and Community

Samantha, Lee, Rebecca and David are The Detached outreach workers for Northamptonshire YMCA .

 Monday -Sunday 6pm -10pm .

This project provides a comprehensive outreach service on behalf of the Northampton Community Safety Team, Anti social Behaviour Unit and the CDRP. This service is low level interaction with young people enabling us to identify individuals and targeted hot spot areas within the community.
Engaging with young people and the community making them aware of the perception of Anti Social Behaviour , along with improving the provision of activities to divert young people from criminal and Anti Social activities.

Young people who are otherwise disengaged with mainstream services are known regular or persistent offenders, often lacking strong parental support or a focus for their energy.

Our workers take a interest in the young people as individuals by researching their current lifestyles and barriers to engaging in activities and facilities already established in the locality . The outcomes have been with the objective of channelling their energies into more  positive creative activities by utilising internal and external facilities .

Outcomes.

fewer young people on the streets
A reduced incidence of Anti-Social Behaviour .
Breaking Down the Barriers between the young people and the Community .
A greater awareness of the perception of Anti Social Behaviour.
Closer partnership working.
Positive outcomes for young people.
Empowering them to make positive contributions to their community.
