About Us
Founded in August 1869, Northamptonshire YMCA
is a leading Christian charity helping young people to feel a sense of:
- value and purpose
- belonging and trust
- growth and development
We achieve this by offering a range of programmes that encourage people to develop in body, mind and spirit, and enable them to participate fully in family and community life.
We support and work towards the objectives of the Government Green Paper; Every Child Matters, which are being healthy; staying safe; enjoying and achieving; making a positive contribution and economic well-being.
The following qualities underpin all our work:
Diversity
We recognise the diversity of the community and seek to work in a fully inclusive way with all people regardless of race, gender, beliefs, martial status, sexual orientation and ethnic origin.
Partnership
Northamptonshire YMCA affirms the breadth and quality of young people's work undertaken by other organisations and seeks to compliment existing projects, working in partnership to achieve its objectives.
Inclusiveness
We strive to ensure that all young people engaging with YMCA programmes have the opportunity to contribute to their own development and well-being through consultation or direct involvement with programme development.
